Days off…

So the Hathaways left this morning to take Kaylene and Avery to Ydaho. Sometimes I miss that life. I woke up at 4am to say goodbye and then ended up helping pack the van. They pulled out around 7ish and I took a bath and did a load of laundry. That is really all I did until Jennifer picked me up to run to Target with her and Big Bubba (I love when he wants something from me and says, “I need you Lala. I want you!” It is so cute). I didn’t realize how late it was until the cashier said, “Have a great night”. It was after 4pm!!!

P.S. Jennifer I left my snowflakes in your car… oops!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday and Monday= No work at AV! WOOHOO!!!

day 30 – movies you can watch again and again.

WOOHoO! I accomplished 30 days of blogging! I am so amazed that I finished it!

Movies that I can watch again and again: Paris When it Sizzles, My Fair Lady, Singing in the Rain, Sabrina, On the Town, Take Me Out to the Ball Game, really any movie with singing and dancing, Stardust, P.S. I Love You, Gone with the Wind, The Princess Diaries… I am sure there is more…

On the other hand, I found this “quote” and I absolutely love it!

I love how reading a book can transport you all over the world and all over time. I remember reading a book… not sure which one… but for 2 weeks after reading the book I cried every time I saw rain (which is a lot in Seattle). Books like music can evoke so much emotion…. depending on what you read, you can feel happy, depressed, stressed, scared stiff, adrenaline…. Books can be amazing!!!

day 29 – favorite tv shows and why you like them

Bones- I love the personalities, drama, and mystery in Bones. I love medical TV shows so this has everything for me 🙂

Dance Academy- an Australian dram with horrible acting but I love it!

Glee- I love the singing and dancing!

Grimm- Fantasy, weird creatures…

Once Upon a Time- I love Snow White and this is Snow White with a twist.

I am sure there is more… I love hulu so I can watch these shows!!!

day 30 – movies you can watch again and again.

Yesterday I went to Walmart at 5:30am. Went to Legendary Donuts, went to the Supermall, went to the Auburn Walmart, went to Grandma Ingalls, went to the BIG MALL (crazy!), went to Target, went to the Pizza Buffet, and then to see “We Got a Zoo” with Ashlee and Jennifer… It was a good day. Now I am up SUPER early because we have men’s breakfast this morning and then we are going to the Gingerbread Exhibit at the Sheraton downtown Seattle 🙂

I think it is time to switch purses today though because I have used this purse for a week or two…. I LOVE PURSES! Every year I buy myself a purse for my birthday and I do not think I have bought myself a purse this year (besides in January!) so I am excited for next month! OOPS Yes I did buy two purses this year! Maybe 4! I am so bad! OH WELL!!!

day 24- post your favorite quote or verse of scripture and why

Doctrine and Covenants 6:20- Behold, thou art Oliver, and I have spoken unto thee because of thy desires; therefore treasure up these words in thy heart. Be faithful and diligent in keeping the commandments of God, and I will encircle thee in the arms of my love.

This has been my favorite scripture for quite a while. I like to replace my name with Oliver’s name so it reads: “Behold, thou art Laura, and I have spoken unto thee because of thy desires; therefore treasure up these words in thy heart. Be faithful and diligent in keeping the commandments of God, and I will encircle thee in the arms of my love.” Isn’t that beautiful? Way back in 2003 I was working the graveyward shift at Arbor Village. I was only 18 and you could count my life experiences on one hand. We had a resident that was on 30 minute checks because he was close to death and on hospice. I was helping another resident and my coworker called me and said he needed help in that apartment. I knew exactly what he needed help with and also knew that because this employee knew VERY LITTLE ENGLISH my inexperienced 18 year old self would be making some very tough phonecalls. I finished up with the current resident and walked up to that apartment. Before I went in I prayed to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ that they would guide me in the things I needed to do and say. As I reached for the door knob I felt arms encircle me. It was a feeling as clear as daylight. It was the most amazing feeling of comfort and love. I do not remember any of the phonecalls I made or really the rest of that shift. Those arms stayed around me the whole night until I sat down in my mom’s van the next morning. I have had other powerful experiences with prayer and I know that if we have faith and truly believe our righteous prayers will be answered. I could never turn my back on prayer after having that experience as well as others in response to prayer. My testimony is so strong about prayer. I love that I can pray and feel comfort and pray and receive answers. It must be terribly difficult for people who do not have that knowledge.
